Ballot-Box Blues

The review of Andreas Ammer’s Portrait of an Oyster notes the presence of many references to visual and literary art, while the illustration by Tom Chitty shows the “mysteriously seductive bivalve” on stage. Surely it is singing Cole Porter’s “Tale of the Oyster,” a personal adventure tale concluding with: “For I’ve had a taste of society / And society has had a taste of me.”
