Stephen Henighan’s Sandino’s Nation: Ernesto Cardenal and Sergio Ramírez Writing Nicaragua, 1940–2012 (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2014) was a finalist for the 2015 Canada Prize in the Humanities. His English translation of the Angolan writer Ondjaki’s novel Granma Nineteen and the Soviet’s Secret (Biblioasis, 2014) was longlisted for the U.S. Best Translated Book Award. His own fourth novel, The Path of the Jaguar, will be published by Thistledown Press in October 2016.
